Meet up with friends for darts after work or class, and halfway through you'll definitely get hungry. This guide isn't about where to hang out (for the venue itself, see the AI DARTS website), only about the easiest way for a group to order food at a darts bar, using Hotdogray inside AI DARTS in Da'an District as the example.
The Rule: Easy to Hold, Not Sticky, Easy to Share
Darts means taking turns, so the best food is something you can hold in one hand and put down without it falling apart, with no need to wash your hands before you throw. By that rule, hot dogs, walking tacos and fried sides all fit.
Hot Dogs: One Each, Everyone Picks Their Own
Hot dogs are the easiest to split up, one per person: Original $50, Chili Dog or Salsa Dog $70, the cheese dogs $80, and the signature Seared Cheese Chili Dog $100. Everyone decides on their own add-ons (Chili +$25, Bacon +$12, Jalapeño +$10), so nobody has to compromise.
Walking Tacos: The Easiest to Eat Between Throws
The toppings are in a bag of corn chips, so all you need is a spoon, and when it's your turn you just put it down to throw. There are 6 of them from $55 to $75; the Chili Cheese at $60 is the classic.
Fried Sides: On the Table for Everyone
Fried sides are made for groups. Order two or three and put them in the middle, and whoever's sitting out eats. Fries (Original) and Tater Tots $50, Chicken Nuggets $55, flavored fries (Wasabi Seaweed, Cumin, Sichuan Pepper) $60, Truffle Fries $65, Chili Fries and Chili Cheese Fries $70.
Drinks and Beer
Beer is $100 a bottle, your pick of Taiwan Beer, Budweiser or Heineken. Thursday is Darts Night with buy 3 get 1 free; any other day it's buy 5 get 1 free, so buying together as a group works out cheaper. For non-drinkers there's Cola and Sprite at $40, Cold Brew Tea at $30, and a few sparkling drinks at $65. To keep it simple, add $50 to a hot dog and you get a fried item and a drink.
When Food Is Available
The dartboards are self-serve 24/7, but the Hotdogray kitchen keeps a schedule: Wednesday to Friday, 8 PM to around midnight, plus every other Saturday. If it rains or something unexpected comes up we may not open, so check the in-store notice or our LINE announcements. Plan your meetup during serving hours and you won't need to find somewhere else to eat. Curious what eating at a darts bar is like?
