Taipei's Best American Hot Dogs: 6 Spots Worth Trying

The number of American-style hot dog spots in Taipei has been growing over the past few years, each with its own take. Here's a roundup of the well-known ones, plus our own Hotdogray at the end — not to toot our own horn, but honestly, our approach is genuinely different from the rest.

Jimmy's Hotdog Club (Da'an District)

Tucked into an alley in Da'an District near Daan MRT Station, Jimmy's sticks to an authentic American hot dog style and is considered one of the notable spots by plenty of regulars. Clean, bright space, good for sitting down and taking your time.

ALPHA DOGS (Chifeng St., Zhongshan District)

Hidden on the second floor of a Chifeng Street alley, with American streetwear-style decor and bright colors — very photogenic. Choose between American and German-style hot dogs; the American version rates especially well for its juicy filling.

Salty Dog (Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall)

Grey-and-white exterior with a neon sign, using brioche buns for a more refined, European-American streetwear feel.

YELLOW Hot Dog (Dongmen Station)

A hot dog specialty shop tucked near Dongmen Station, with craft beer to pair. Its signature is the "Taiwanese sausage pork burger," which pairs Taiwanese sausage with international-style bread and toppings — a Taiwan-America mashup.

Rainbow Hot Dog (Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall)

A small white food truck near Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, going for a lighter, generously-portioned style — good for takeout and eating on the go.

TIAO's American Hot Dogs (Xinhai Rd.)

Near Technology Building Station, with plenty of flavor options and affordable prices — a regular stop for students.

Hotdogray (Da'an District, inside AI DARTS)

What sets us apart from the spots above: Hotdogray isn't a standalone storefront — it's inside AI DARTS, a self-serve darts bar. We started as a street cart in Zhongshan District back in 2017 and have kept it going ever since. Our biggest signature is pure pork chili, simmered for over three hours with a dozen-plus spices — not the ketchup-and-crispy-sausage Taiwanese style, which makes us fairly rare among Taipei's hot dog spots. Open until late, so a hot dog after a round of darts, or just a late-night bite, both work. Curious how our signature chili gets made, check out this article.

Every Taipei hot dog spot has its own flavor. If you like a refined, streetwear vibe, try ALPHA DOGS or Salty Dog; if you want authentic American style with house-made chili, come find Hotdogray at AI DARTS in Da'an District.
